Oak Plaza Hotels are helping to bring Ghana’s hospitality sector to the next level. The group includes two properties; Oak Plaza East Legon Hotel, and Oak Plaza Airport Hotel. General Manager, Hazel Gumpo, who oversees both properties, asserts, “Both hotels meet international standards, and we are in the process of adding a serviced-apartment facility to our airport hotel for long-stay guests.”
The East Legon Hotel is a luxurious 12-room boutique hotel designed to be a quiet retreat for travellers. The Oak Plaza Airport Hotel, offers 83 guestrooms and suites along with cutting-edge convention facilities. The Oak Plaza Airport Hotel also features soundproofed guestrooms, a semi- Olympic swimming pool, a health centre, a wide variety of international cuisine, exquisite traditional Ghanaian dishes, choice beverage options, a business centre, special packages including one providing a guest with a personal trainer, and complete support for meetings and events.
Oak Plaza Hotels partner with a number of airlines, mining companies and other enterprises and organisations. The hotels serve travellers from all over the world and Ms. Gumpo would like to attract more visitors from the US. She stresses that both Oak Plaza properties meet international standards in safety, food security, efficiencies and attention to detail.

My management style is hands-on and all our staff members receive continuous training, including exposure to regional international five-star hotels.” She added that the hotel is exploring possibilities of partnerships with Hotels in the US to enable “her employees to gain first hand international exposure and training.”
