Jorge E. Jimenez

Jorge E. Jimenez is a self-made man. Having enjoyed a long standing career in the pharmaceutical industry of more than 40 years, he is a true pioneer in the industry. Before establishing his own company, he worked for major multinational corporations. In 1990, he set up his own company Biochem.

Jimenez is very interested in expanding his business to markets in areas of Latin America wherein he's not yet active. Biochem produces well known generic products including antibiotics, antihistamines, medicines against the flu and peracetic treatments. The reason why he is interested in forming alliances with foreign corporations is because he wants to distribute his products in new regional markets.

Jimenez believes in growth, because standing still is to him is equivalent to falling behind. He is also very open to representing products of American or European corporations in the Latin American market. He is open to any company that is interested in forming a joint venture in the pharmaceutical field and mutually whereby both parties will benefit from the rapidly growing pharmaceutical industry in Colombia. Ideal candidates include international laboratories that have developed unique products on the market and are interested in bring these products to the Colombian market.

Biochem has set up a large manufacturing facility with very tight quality controls, and is very experienced in the production of solids and semi-solids. Additionally, Biochem has expanded in veterinary pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products.
